The Infection Control Department was established in 2005 (formerly the Infection Control Department, renamed in 2012) with the responsibility of laundry, sterilization of instruments and monitoring of hospital hygiene. Implementing hospital infection control based on Circular 16/2018/TT-BYT dated July 20, 2018 (formerly Circular 18/2009/TT-BYT).
Functions and tasks of the department
Coordinate with relevant Departments and Divisions to perform the following tasks:
– Develop an annual infection control plan to submit to the Infection Control Council for review before the Director approves and organizes implementation.
– Take the lead in developing infection control regulations and procedures based on the general regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Health and submit them to the Director of the unit for approval and implementation.
– Directly monitor, inspect and urge the quality of hospital hygiene
– Coordinate with relevant departments and offices to monitor infection control work, including:
Establishing and operating a system to investigate, detect, notify and evaluate hospital-acquired infections in patients and medical staff from departments and proposing timely intervention solutions.
Inspecting and urging cadres, civil servants, labor contracts, teachers, students, patients, relatives of patients and guests to properly implement infection control regulations in medical examination and treatment.
Propaganda, training, scientific research, participating in international cooperation and directing lower levels on infection control.
Managing and supervising disinfection, sterilization, laundry, providing sterile instruments and fabrics for infection control work throughout the hospital.
Coordinate with departments, offices, and members of the infection control network to detect and resolve issues related to infection control.
– Sterilization, disinfection of medical equipment and laundry and supply of linen:
Organize packaging, disinfection, sterilization of linen, medical equipment… serving surgery, care and treatment for the entire hospital
Organize the supply of linen, laundry and disinfection of all linen of the hospital (patients and their families).
Organize sewing, repairing and preserving linen, materials, and medical equipment; request the destruction of linen that does not meet quality standards according to regulations.
Organize the transportation and delivery of linen and medical equipment in departments.
– Organize the distribution and collection of linen for patients entering and leaving the hospital every day.
